ERW tube (Electric Resistance Welded tube) is a type of seam-welded steel tube manufactured by heating the edges of steel plates with high-frequency current to make them fused, then squeezing and welding the edges together.
Compared with seamless steel pipes, ERW tubes feature high production efficiency, lower cost, and stable weld quality, and are widely used in fields such as low-pressure fluid transportation and structural pipes. However, due to the presence of weld seams, their application is limited in harsh working conditions such as high pressure and high temperature.

ERW Tube Production Line

The production line for electric resistance welded steel pipes (ERW tubes) is a set of continuous equipment centered on high-frequency resistance welding. The general process is as follows: After uncoiling, leveling, and shearing to remove defects, the steel strip is rolled into a tubular shape by a forming machine. Then, high-frequency current is used to heat the edges of the tube blank to a molten state, and the edges are pressed together by squeeze rolls to form a weld seam. Subsequent steps include cooling, refining the dimensions by a sizing machine, inspecting the weld quality through weld testing (such as eddy current testing), and finally cutting to fixed length, straightening, conducting quality inspection, and storing the products.

The entire production line is highly automated with fast welding efficiency, capable of stably producing seam-welded steel tubes of different specifications, and is suitable for fields such as low-pressure fluid transportation

About Packing Details

1.Pipe Bundling: ERW steel pipes of the same size are neatly bundled together. Use multiple high-tensile steel straps to secure the bundle, preventing it from coming apart during transport. Plastic or wooden spacers can be placed where the straps touch the pipes to prevent surface damage.

2.End Protection: The ends of the pipe bundle are sealed with plastic caps or iron rings to protect the pipe openings and prevent water ingress.

3.Moisture and Rust Prevention: The entire pipe bundle is tightly wrapped in waterproof kraft paper or plastic woven fabric. Desiccants can be placed inside the wrapping if necessary to prevent moisture and corrosion.

4.Outer Reinforcement and Marking: After the outer wrapping is complete, the bundle is reinforced with additional steel straps. A clear shipping mark is affixed to the package, indicating product specifications, quantity, and batch information.

5.Container Loading or Palletizing: The strapped pipe bundles can be loaded bare into containers or placed on sturdy wooden or steel pallets for easy forklift handling.
